We've already visited Tokyo Bubble Tea in Centrio twice since it opened. They have really good Japanese food that's a lot cheaper compared to other Japanese restaurants in Cagayan de Oro. The menu of this place actually reminds me of the "famiresus" or "family restaurants" I've eaten at while I was an exchange student in Tokyo, Japan - you know, chains like Gusto, Saizeriya, Denny's, CoCo Ichibanya and Jonathan's.
So I was pleasantly surprised at how affordable the prices are at Tokyo Bubble Tea. I really wonder why I haven't tried this while I was still living in Manila. Maybe I was always mistaking it for BubbaTeaLicious which is a chain that only serves milk tea on the cheap. Considering that Tokyo Bubble Tea actually has bubble tea in its name, I find that their food is actually miles better than their bubble tea.
(Top) Salmon Squared, (Bottom) Shinjuku Wings |
The Salmon Squared rolls were really cheap at 195 php since they didn't scrimp on the salmon. Other Japanese restos in CDO charge 250+ for something similar. It's called "Squared" because you can find salmon slices both inside and outside the roll. The Shinjuku Wings (very spicy!) we got for free because we were given a coupon during our previous visit here - it's free as long as our next bill is at least 500 php. Sadly, we weren't given a new coupon during this visit. One less reason to go back, right? Haha.
(L) Chocolate Milk Tea, (Top) Okonomiyaki, (Bottom) Seafood Ramen |
Their Chocolate Milk Tea was okay for the price of 70 php though nothing special for me. Next time I'll try more unique flavors. The Okonomiyaki I think was priced at 140 php though I'm not too sure. But it was bigger than I expected and was good for sharing among 2-3 persons. The Seafood Ramen was priced at 180 php I think and was way cheaper compared to Tadakuma or Sumo Sam's version. Our total bill here was just around 600 pesos for 3 persons.
Overall, we'd definitely come back. But they need to expedite their credit card terminal application since we like paying via credit card because of all the miles that you could earn. 600 pesos is equivalent to almost 20 miles na and sobrang sayang lang if we pay in cash.
