The Bistro Group opened another restaurant in Centrio and it's Tonkatsu by Terazawa. It occupies half of the original Italianni's space so it only has like 12 tables I think, and it's only separated by a mirrored screen from the dining space of Italianni's. It's grand opening was last Tuesday, April 8, 2014, and we went there around 7 p.m. It was quite full when we arrived but we still got a table since we had a reservation. They were also taking photos of each table with the manager since it was their grand opening. And one of the chefs or cooks came to our table and explained some stuff and recommended some starters.
This is our first time to eat in a Tonkatsu by Terazawa restaurant since whenever we're in Manila, Yabu is our default tonkatsu place. It's concept and pricing is similar to that of Yabu. Different types of pork, unlimited cabbage, rice and miso soup. But I really like that they have fish, oyster and prawn tonkatsu here in Terazawa since I don't think Yabu has that (correct me if I'm wrong).
So we ordered a Chasoba Salad (225 php), Rosu Miso Tonkatsu set (395 php), a Seafood Combination Katsu set (490 php) and a Chicken Katsudon set (385 php). They have a 10% service charge on top of the total bill. Out of the three, I liked the Seafood Katsu set the best.

I really regretted ordering the Rosu Miso Tonkatsu set. It's actually just the normal 120g Rosu Tonkatsu but with an added Miso-based sauce (the brown thing in the photo above). I didn't like the taste of the sauce - the house tonkatsu sauce was so much better for me. The pork tasted okay, next time I'll try the more expensive hire and kurobuta pork types.
The Seafood Set had 1 piece each of Prawn Furai, Oyster Furai and Fish Katsu. I really liked the Fish Katsu and the white sauce that came with the set (not sure if it really was a sauce though. haha). And the Oyster furai was also really good. Will definitely order this again next time.
The Chicken Katsudon contained a lot of rice! We couldn't really finish the whole bowl. The chicken was okay though nothing special. But the sauce and egg combination was quite good actually.
Every set had unlimited cabbage, miso soup and rice but we didn't get second servings because we were already so full! Next time, we'll just get 2 sets for 3 people instead of getting 1 set each. We even had our leftovers packed because we had a lot left.
The miso soup they served was kind of salty for me so we'll try and tell them to make it less salty the next time we eat there. The Sesame sauce for the cabbage was really good. It was definitely tastier than the Japanese sauce.
The Chasoba salad we ordered as a starter was also good though they could be more generous with the serving size. The cold soba was really good with the mayonnaise and sesame dressing.
Overall, we'll definitely come back to try their other dishes. And we're glad that there's another new resto in CDO that adds variety to the kind of food available here. I really hope The Bistro Group opens more restaurants here so that we get to use our Bistro Card here more and not just in Manila. Really hoping for a Bulgogi Brothers and Krazy Garlik here in CDO. Fingers crossed.
